A Quick Wonky Cross

I have a little bit of a confession to make.  I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and every single time there's a movie marathon on TV, I get sucked in like a moth to a flame.  Of course I own all of the movies, but for some reason, I can't resist when they're on TV.   Watching HP with my wild thing and sewing up this quilt top- can a Saturday get any better?

I've made three big quilts in the last six weeks (plus a couple of other smaller ones).  A Dash of Luck was 72x90, Serendipity was 84x96, and Springtime Blooms was a whopping 80x100.  So, I was really ready to work on a smaller quilt.  This was a really fun and easy quilt to put together, and the cutting was simple as well which is always a bonus.  I was able to cut and piece the entire quilt top just today!

This quilt will be a gift, and the colors coordinate with the recipient's living room decor, so I can't wait to get this one quilted up and ready to give!

  4. You are now officially my favorite quilt blogger. I love your style. I'm a teacher also, and now that you've admitted to being a potterhead like myself, I see that I'm meant to read your blog religiously. Keep 'em coming!

  5. You are sew quick! Did you get a hold of Harry's magic wand or something? What a fun day you must have had... Piecing a quilt, watching Harry and hanging out with your son. Glad to hear you enjoyed the day! And your top looks great!

  6. As Linda B says, you are my favorite quilt blogger too.
I am full of admiration for how quick you are at piecing and quilting. So many quilts in 6 weeks, it looks to me as a fairy tale ! I'd like to be half as quick as you are.
You say "Feel free to pin, but please include a link back to my blog" I did on my blog to relate your quilts for men, so inspiring. I am sure that now my French quilter friends are going to work with love for husbands, uncles, and brothers, as you did. Have a great Sunday time Kelly.

  16. I feel like a copy cat but I, too, would like to see how this quilt is cut and goes together. I am always looking for "easy" patterns for kids charity quilts, especially ones that boys would like. This looks perfect. from an also Potter fan.

  19. Those fabrics look gorgeous together! I know what you mean about the Harry Potter movies -- and they're easy to watch one after the other. One weekend just after my oldest got the Indiana Jones movies for Christmas he wanted to watch all of them. Sounded like an okay idea at the time, but by the end of the day I was losing my mind. And I wasn't even watching, just hearing the music...
