Spring Break NTT!

Welcome to another Needle and Thread Thursday!  I am currently reveling in the fact that my exam is over, and that I'm on Spring Break- which has afforded me some nice sewing time- woohoo!  I've been keeping a little bit of a leisurely pace this week, but I have managed to put together this kaleidoscope quilt top-

It's not quite finished yet.  I think I might add a pieced border to make it a little bit bigger.  It measures 48x48 right now, which is a good baby quilt size, but I would like to make it closer to 60x60.  I just think that size is a little more versatile.

I love the kaleidoscope pattern, particularly with the huge variety of fabrics in this quilt.  There are 16 different fabrics in this one.  When I start pulling fabrics for a "rainbow" type quilt, I just can't stop!  I always justify it to myself though by saying that it just gives me more to work with for the backing- and, you know using so many in one quilt also allows me to keep on fabric shopping!

Last weeks party was fantastic!  Check out some of the beauties that really caught my eye-

Curlyque Sue shared her sweet Granny Square quilt.  I love the scalloped edge!

Leigh Laurel Studios linked up this pretty plus quilt (you know I'm a sucker for the blue/green combo!)

and Renewing Mrs. Sew and Sew showed off this lovely quilt.  I love how the sunshine behind it just makes it glow!

What have you been working on lately?  With studying for my exam, I feel like I've really missed a lot!  I can't wait to see!

1.  You can link finished projects or WIP's , but just keep it about quilting and sewing!
2. Link to your specific post (not to your home page!) to make it easier for others.
3. Please remember to spread the word and post my button or a text link.
4. Spread the comment love far and wide!
5. Following me is not a requirement to link, but is so very appreciated!

**By the way, I'm adding a little request to the party from now on, and I hope you understand.  I'd really like for your link to include a project you're working on (in any stage), or a tutorial you'd like to share, rather than just a link to another party or giveaway.  I absolutely LOVE giveaways and link parties (who doesn't?), and if your post includes a project as well as a giveaway or linky, then bring it on!  Thanks for helping to keep NTT a place to find awesome inspiration and fuel for your creativity!

  4. The kaleidoscope quilt is gorgeous!!!! I'm glad that your exam is over. I guess somewhere I missed the fact that you had a big exam. I'm sure you did well. I'm binding a Double Wedding Ring quilt (it's been on hold because we think I have kidney stones). Then my next project is to scallop and bind a quilt that is already quilted. Seeing the scalloped quilt made me realize I made the right decision to scallop mine.

  7. Hi Kelly! I love what you're doing with the kaleidoscope design! The colors are fabulous and so cheery. I've been wanting to make one myself. Thanks for featuring my in-process plus quilt, too!

  8. Yep, that'd be the answer to getting your pic to display .... choose "auto crop my image". I've just got to let go of those control issues. lol
